Where does light come from?
“How do we see in the dark?”
Spring term 2025–2026Year 30 weeks
Year 3 set up a shadow theatre, made classroom lamps with simple electric circuits and measured which room in the building gets the most sun.
In the spring term Year 3 went after light. First shadows: the shadow of the same stick was measured in the garden in the morning, at noon and in the evening. Then the first circuits were built with batteries, wires and bulbs.
At the end of term the class staged a shadow theatre lit by the lamps they had made.
