Year 3 is when projects run longest at Ada. In the autumn term the class worked for ten weeks on "Why does bread rise?": they sowed wheat, visited a mill, watched yeast under a magnifier and baked their own bread in the school kitchen.
The first science notebooks are kept: prediction, observation, result. In spring simple circuits are built around light and electricity.
In literacy, paragraph writing and short research texts come to the fore; every child gives a five-minute talk to the class once a term.
